Unpacking Privilege: Exploring the Societal
Impact of Identity & Power
Wednesday, January 25, 2023
5:00PM-7:00PM
Associated Bank River Center | 111 E Kilbourn Ave, Floor 2
The concept of privilege is becoming increasingly referenced as a workplace inclusion topic, but many of us still don’t fully understand what it is and how it affects our daily lives. This interactive workshop guides participants in understanding privilege as a concept. Attendees will discuss and work together to create connection, reflection, and shared understanding about privilege, and how to leverage it to create opportunity.
Participants will start to recognize their own privileges (both inherent and or acquired) and will better understand how to create an inclusive culture professionally or personally.
Attend this workshop to:
- Understand the impact of privilege and how the absence of privilege can be experienced
- Gain a better grasp of the range of privileges and understand that everyone has them
- Recognize and reflect on your own privileges
- Explore the impact of privilege and how people can support one another as allies
This workshop is a collaborative, safe space that is open to (and potentially insighful to) everyone. Don’t miss this one.
